Council Wants Jakarta to Collaborate with Buffer Areas to Curb Coronavirus

Together we apply health protocols and urge citizens to comply with the regulations set by the government

Jakarta DPRD has called on the city administration to collaborate with the government from buffer areas to contain the COVID-19 outbreak in the capital.

According to Abdurahman Suhaimi, Vice Chairman of Jakarta DPRD, this collaboration was important to success the emergency brake policy by reimposing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) starting Monday (9/14).

DPRD Supports Extension of Transitional PSBB Period

"Together we apply health protocols and urge citizens to comply with the regulations set by the government," he expressed, Friday (9/11).

He cited that it could be done by tightening supervision at the entry gates to the Jakarta border and buffer zones. Surely it was believed to be effective in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

"Each region must also provide an understanding of its citizens regarding the handling of coronavirus," he stated.

He added the administration should inject extra budget for its handling in each region and regency in a bid to get optimal and comprehensive results.

"This budget is also much needed for handling the same case in each area of Jakarta," he closed.
